The Project
SustainableEnergy is in cooperation with local partners in Mali,
Burkina Faso, Kenya, and Mozambique running the project YouthBaton -
Youth take the Baton for a Green Future, on how youth can make a
difference in terms of climate change.
The projects aims to
obtain experience in loosely organised and short-term partnerships
between well-established civil society organizations and youth
groups. The four countries will be divided in two teams that will each
run four campaigns on four different themes related to climate
change. The teams will document their campaigns – both the planning,
execution and results – through social media posts with specific pre-set
tags. The dashboard collects the tagged posts from Twitter, Instagram,
Facebook and Youtube and thereby documents all parts of the campaigns.
The Project Background and Aim
The project applies an innovative approach to explore new ways of
reporting and documenting using social media. In order to communicate
and share experiences across borders, the project has developed a Social
Media Dashboard building on specific social media. The dashboard
collects certain tagged posts from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and
Youtube and thereby documents all parts of the youth campaigns from
planning to lessons learned after implementation.
Finally, the project wish to investigate how to strengthen dialogue and sharing among partners in different countries using the Social Media Dashboard developed for this project.
The project is funded by Danida’s Innovative Partnership Fund and will run from May 2014 to May 2016.
